When I went off to college in the 70’s all I had was my portable electric
typewriter, black light and posters and clothing. There was one dorm room that
had a small refrigerator with an even smaller freezer and we tried to see how
well it worked with ice cream sandwiches. Unfortunately we finished off the
ice cream before we knew whether or not the freezer worked. Today it’s all
about technology and comfort. And studying, of course.
Looking at this list,
I’m sure I didn’t have this much stuff in my first apartment. And we at
SimplyChecklists.com may have to add rental truck to the list to get it all to
school. But check with roommates, because some of these items may be shared.
For security reasons, have expensive equipment marked in a permanent manner.
And be sure to check with the school for a list of required and restricted
items. Remember to use this checklist, study hard and call your parents often
(not always just for money).
