Everyone has a different view of what an emergency might be. For some a broken finger nail is equivalent to a gale force hurricane.

But one thing is for sure, life is all about emergencies and being prepared is one way to lessen their impact.

Most preparations are basic: batteries for radios and flashlights, a first aid kit, bottled water, important papers stored together, an evacuation route and, of course, an extra nail file.
