Who knew that in the past few years we would become experts at
hurricane prep.
We have even created a cabinet in our laundry room as well as a few reserved shelves
in the pantry for hurricane supplies. The laundry cabinet contains old towels,
flashlights, lanterns, water purification tablets, procedures and phone numbers provided
by our local municipality, batteries, gloves, rain gear, a first aid kit and a
small propane bottle for our camping stove.
The pantry has canned
goods, MRE’s and plenty of bottled water. Outside our propane tanks for the grill are
filled and the shutters are ready and waiting. One thing about hurricanes, unlike
other natural disasters and storms, there is usually time to prepare and make sure
every item on the checklist is marked off.
