TORNADO PREPAREDNESS CHECKLIST

When you think of tornados you think of the Midwest and that infamous tornado alley.  But I grew up in the Midwest and didn’t experience a tornado until I moved to Ft. Lauderdale.  It was actually a waterspout that came ashore hitting the four-story office building I was working in.  I still remember seeing a palm tree fly by the window of the fourth floor conference room.

As my mind was trying to comprehend this, the windows blew open, the ceiling tiles came flying into the room and we all hit the floor.  This storm was minor compared to some of the big tornados that have wrecked havoc in the middle of the United States.    The lesson is these storms don’t just happen in tornado alley.  Be prepared by printing this checklist now.
