MOVING IN CHECKLIST

On one of my 17 moves, my husband and I rented a small home while a house we were building was completed. This was a move I wasn’t thrilled about, so my usually organized self was rebelling. I didn’t follow one of my Moving In tips - Make sure everything you are bringing to the new home fits if you are downsizing or using temporary housing.

So on the day we moved into the rental house, everything from our 2200 square foot house arrived at the 1300 square foot rental. There was not even room in the house to move between the boxes. I sat on a box (because there was no floor space) and had myself a little cry. Then I unpacked everything, put away the things we would need and repacked the rest, marking the boxes clearly. Then I walked the three blocks to the local ice cream store and I knew it would be OK.
