At last a 3-day weekend and a chance to enjoy our
new camper in the great outdoors. We progressed from rustic
camping to camping with utilities to the ultimate, big kahuna,
the daddy of them all, the camping trailer. We have been so
excited about this trip that we started planning it weeks ago. We
have hiking maps, logs for a campfire, a new cooler and plenty of
lanterns. I can already smell the roasting marshmellows.
And this time I will remember the bug spray and extra pillows
because it is on my checklist.
I’m also pretty certain that if I bring my rain slicker and
waterproof matches, I can just about guarantee that we
won’t see any rain. How’s that for reverse
psychology? We have gourmet meals planned, hiking maps
studied and this time we’re even bringing our dog, Dunkin
Hoover (he has his own checklist!). It takes a lot of stuff
to “get away,” but it’s easy to do with this
great checklist.
