When we were in our early twenties, we enjoyed sleeping on the ground,
bathing in a creek and heating up canned beans on a campfire. If someone brought a
cot and an air mattress we might have given the thumbs down, although in reality we
were a bit jealous.
But we were there to enjoy nature and friends and we
always came away with a smile (and maybe a slightly sore back from sleeping on
the ground). We tubed down gently rolling streams, backpacked through the
Florida Everglades, read books by day and told stories by night. We fought off
insects with spray and candles, bandaged scrapes with a first aid kit and
placed tarps over our tents when the rain began. But we also roasted
marshmallows and constructed s’mores over campfires, took fantastic photos that
would forever remind us of camping among nature and made our own stories to
take us through the years. Make a reservation today to sleep among the trees
and don’t forget your checklist.
